Dear EUEW Members, Partners & Friends,
Thank you for making EUEW Brussels 2019 a truly memorable and positive event. We truly appreciate and value the energy you brought to the meetings, the contributions you made to the debates and discussions, the commitment you showed to our strategic plan and vision, and the team spirit you shared during our celebration moments.
It´s clear that there´s a great momentum around the future of EUEW – with a new strategic plan, a committed leadership, a solid communication strategy and an ambition to think and act on a European level. It´s also clear that we have great many challenges (and opportunities) ahead of us if we are to remain relevant and competitive in the global marketplace.
You can already download all the presentations of our incredible Guest Speakers whose insights reconfirmed the need for all of us – as business and business leaders – to change continuously. From China´s new norm, to Amazon´s past, present and future, from artificial intelligence to circular economy, from employee-centric to customer-centric, from brand reputation to social credit scores, from our past accomplishments to our future responsibilities, as the European Union of Electrical Wholesalers, we have put everything fundamental on the agenda.
Thank you for the incredible feedback you gave us on the EDIT – EUEW’s brand new magazine, created especially for the General Convention in Brussels. Once again, we would like to recognize and thanks our contributors and headline partners – Siemens, ABB, Niko and Ledvance. We would like to thank Mr Ralf Christian, Mr Tarak Mehta, Mr Paul Mathijs and Mr Erol Kirilmaz for their time and efforts for the interviews in the magazine. We would also like to thank IFH Koeln and Ian Heller for their special insights into the future of digitalization and its impact on distribution and wholesale. EDIT is also available electronically on our website – so spread the word, share and help us amplify the voice of our industry.
At the historic venue of Brussels’ Royal Museums of Fine Arts, our dynamic and visionary President, Ulrich Liedtke, passed on the leadership baton to Alexander Dewulf at the Grand Finale. I´m honored to have worked with Ulrich Liedtke, a visionary President, an ultimate team player and a great coach, a true friend… thank you, Ulrich. And I am looking forward to a great journey ahead with Alexander Dewulf, the new EUEW President.
These visual memoires will serve as a great reminder of exactly the kind of community we want to be part of and the energy we want to bring to the European electrical industry.
Thank you for a successful General Convention in Brussels. See you in Barcelona, so please mark your agenda now , 4 – 6 June 2020.
