In 2018 EUEW came up with a new and improved concept for its Business Convention, which you have been supporting as one of the main partners ever since. This year, once again, LEDVANCE opted to support EUEW’s growing platform where key decision makers and top-level experts meet to discuss the hottest industry topics. Why is this partnership important for LEDVANCE?
Since its founding in 2016, LEDVANCE has clearly sets the distribution channel for its products, preferably via wholesalers. The partnership with all main players in this field thus reflects the choice to support the EUEW convention for the 4th time. LEDVANCE is proud sponsor of the event where the voice of electrical wholesaling national associations throughout Europe is ensured with continuous professionalism, support and integrity.
This year’s general convention theme is “Energize transition: a key role for the electrical wholesalers” focusing on translating the very important role of electrical wholesalers in the energy transition. How important is the impact of the accelerated energy transition process for the activity of LEDVANCE? Which are the most relevant efforts in this sense that the company is proud to share?
With lighting accounting for around six percent of global CO2 emissions, we as manufacturers have to do our part. Another big topic is the EU-wide ban in 2023 on conventional fluorescent lamps & halogen lamps to accelerate energy savings. The EU also plans a tightening of the RoHS Directive on the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. These EU laws will cause an increasing need for refurbishment and retrofitting. This means that companies will have to replace their conventional fluorescent lamps with new LED solutions like lamps or luminaires.
The first 100 registrations for this year’s convention were received within just one week of opening registrations. EUEW was very pleasantly surprised by the interest the EUEW Business Convention is gaining in the industry as well as in its wider ecosystem. Which are the main takeaways for LEDVANCE with the participation in the EUEW Convention?
